Very fine Louis XV style amaranth, kingwood and tulipwood commode with conforming serpentine Spanish brocatelle marble top, above two short and two long quarter-veneered crossbanded drawers mounted with rocaille handles and lockplates retaining the original mercurial gilding and each stamped "JSCH" on back, the sides similarly veneered, on bracket feet; late 19th. C., commode measuring 51 1/4" wide (130.2cm), 25 1/2 " deep (64.8cm), 34 3/4" high (88.3cm).
